Among Giants is a three-channel projection installation that immerses viewers in the shifting landscape of Vancouver Island’s old growth forests. Spinning in perfect sync, towering old-growth trees slowly give way to barren cut blocks, revealing the stark impact of logging operations. The seamless transition from lush, ancient ecosystems to stripped and empty landscapes highlights the irreversible loss of these irreplaceable forests. By visually contrasting what remains with what is disappearing, Among Giants sheds light on the environmental consequences of industrial logging and the fragility of the natural world in the face of human intervention.
